The documentary follows the life and work of Vlastimir Gavrik, a film and television production designer and Academy Award winner for Best Art Direction, shared with a team of production designers for the film Nicholas and Alexandra. Through the personal story of his daughter, film and TV producer and artist Aleksandra Gavrik, this work tells the story of a man who helped shape Yugoslav cinema, with the aim of ensuring that the great figures of film and television art are not forgotten.
Gavrik created production designs for more than 84 feature films and 12 TV series. Among the most significant works of his career are the films and series Black Bomber, Death and the Dervish, The Master and Margarita, Escape from Sobibor, Happy People, and Family Treasure.
Alongside the film screening, an exhibition dedicated to Vlastimir Gavrik will arrive in Herceg Novi. The exhibition was first presented in 2020 at the RTS Gallery and was subsequently shown in several cities and at festivals throughout the region. From 2026 onwards, the exhibition is also scheduled to tour Paris, Beijing, Iceland, and the United States.

Aleksandra Gavrik is a film and television producer and artist. Over the course of a 40-year career, she has worked on films Underground, directed by Emir Kusturica, and Boris Godunov, directed by Andrzej Żuławski, as well as on numerous television projects, music videos, drama series, concerts, and fashion shows. She is the only producer in Serbia and the wider region to have organized exhibitions of visual mathematics of Dr. Slavik Jablan and the mathematical sculptures of Dutch artist Rinus Roelofs, both presented at the RTS Gallery.
