This documentary explores the life and work of Slovenian director of photography Vilko Filač, who
passed away in 2008. . The story unfolds through the memories of his friends, family members, and
film collaborators, who bring to life the moments that shaped his world. During the making of the film,
one key question emerged: What is harder? To slowly forget, or to suddenly remember?
Veronika Francesca Stefančić graduated in cinematography in 2022. and is currently completing her master’s
studies in film directing. She works as a camera assistant on the films Kaj and Ester, Ida, Who Sang So
Badly That Even the Dead Rose from Their Graves and Sang with Her, Western, Washed and Buried, and as a
director of photography she shot the short films The Scent of Hatred (Slovenia) and Nature and Poetry (Croatia).
She is the founder of ZFS Podmladek, the youth wing of the Association of Slovenian Film Professionals. For her
master’s thesis, she made a documentary about Vilko Filač.
