Sinopsis

In Czechoslovakia in the mid-1980s, doctor Ingrid faces the consequences of a system that intruded into the most intimate aspects of citizens’ lives. An unexpected friendship with a Roma nurse, Agata, raises questions of responsibility, prejudice, and human dignity.

Director

Ivan Ostrochovský (1972) is a Slovak director, screenwriter, and producer known for films that explore complex social and historical themes through a strong visual style and carefully developed characters. His films Koza and Servants have been screened at major international film festivals. In Only beautiful things to look at, he addresses the legacy of forced sterilization of Roma women in Czechoslovakia, exploring the consequences of systemic oppression and the question of personal responsibility.
