When night guard Sonja Kern wakes up on the floor of a robbed bank vault, she remembers nothing. There are no signs of a break-in, the alarm did not go off, and the surveillance cameras recorded nothing. As the only person found in the vault, she is also the easiest culprit: a single mother with no money and a police record.
Inspector Deja Kolenc builds the case relying on instinct. Maksimilijan Sotler, a cold-blooded and precise insurance investigator, examines the same crime from a completely opposite perspective.
As the investigation progresses, the network behind the robbery is gradually revealed, leading to a mayoral campaign, a mysterious financier, and a document for which powerful people are willing to kill.
As Sonja’s memory slowly returns, moment by moment, she will be forced to choose between the truth and the only person she truly cares about.
Matevž Luzar is a renowned Slovenian film director and screenwriter. After studying theology, he graduated in film directing from the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana, where he now teaches screenwriting.
His body of work includes feature films and high-budget television series, for which he has won 32 awards, including the prestigious Prešeren Fund Award, the Vesna Award for Best Film, as well as Best Director honors at festivals in Beijing and Cinedays.
