Dragan Jovicevic is a longtime film critic, theorist, journalist, filmmaker, and producer. He earned his PhD in Film Theory from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, specializing in film genre studies. He is the author of several books on film theory, including Rings and Curses (2010), Lost Worlds of Serbian Fantasy Cinema (2014, co-authored with Jovan Ristic), and Nation, Genre (2021), as well as the novel Last Drop (2016), numerous short stories, essays, and scholarly works on film and culture. He is the writer and producer of the feature-length film Warm Film, which had its world premiere at the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival in 2024 and has since been screened at 40 festivals across Europe and Asia. His short film A Boy Opens the Door (2025) has been screened at more than 50 festivals worldwide. He is the founder of the Greifer production company, which brings together artists from various disciplines. As a producer, he has worked on animated, documentary, experimental video, fiction films, and television series. He currently serves as Culture Editor of the weekly magazine Radar.
