Marijana Jakovljević graduated in Comparative Literature and French Language and Literature from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb. She also studied film studies. She works as a freelance artist and film critic. She is a member of the Croatian Society of Film Critics, the International Federation of Film Critics FIPRESCI, and the Association of Film Critics of Europe and the Mediterranean FEDEORA. She has served as a jury member at several festivals.
