Nikola Marković je rođen u Nikšiću 1972. . Dugogodišnji je novinar, urednik, publicista i književnik. Diplomirao je na Filološkom fakultetu Univerziteta Crne Gore u Nikšiću. Direktor je Radio televizije Nikšić od 2021. .
Throughout his extensive journalistic career, he has edited the daily newspaper Dan, the student magazine Index, and the television programme Semester on the Radio and Television of Montenegro (RTCG). He also worked as the Montenegro correspondent for the Belgrade-based newspapers Svedok and Telegraf. From 2012 to 2021, he chaired the Government Commission for Monitoring Investigations into Attacks on Journalists. He was also a member of the OSCE Working Group on Media Self-Regulation in Vienna, as well as the working group responsible for media legislation. He has participated in numerous panels, roundtable discussions, lectures, and academic and professional conferences in Montenegro and abroad, and is regarded as one of the country’s leading figures in the field of media. For several years, he served as a teaching associate for practical journalism courses at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Montenegro.
He is the author of the books “Mafia Does Not Forgive” (journalism, 2005) and “I, Chat GPT” (novel, 2025), editor of the book “The Strong Word Killed Me” (journalism, 2006), as well as a reviewer and editor of numerous literary editions and series.
Markovic is the recipient of the Marko Miljanov International Literary Award, presented by the Writers’ Association of Montenegro, the Veljko Vlahovic Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by the Journalists’ Association of Montenegro, the Special Recognition for Investigative Journalism at the Investigative Journalism Awards in the Western Balkans and Turkey, supported by the European Union, the 18 September Award of the Municipality of Niksic, and the Montenegrin Managers Association Award for Best Manager in the Public Sector in 2025.
He has initiated and developed numerous educational, scientific, and cultural television and media programmes and projects in Montenegro. He lives and works in Gornji Zagarac and Niksic.
